53 years ago today.

I am taking a pause to reflect on the Riots which sparked the beginning of the Gay liberation Movement.

History is a great teacher so check out the link above 👆 for information about Stonewall.

A reminder that we are here to help people build families now and for the future and there are many ways to do that.

I remain steadfast in support of my fellow citizens…Special shout-out to my patients and their partners 😎

There remains work to be done and I acknowledge both the real and insidious concerns that people have about reproductive options and *xmarriage in the wake of the recent decision overturning

While I look for ways to advance my allyship, I take in my role supporting the as well as providing focused medical education to future generations of .

My mother and sister both have birthdays on June 24th.

They, among others in my orbit growing up, shaped my views on reproductive health and agency. I will share more thoughts in another post to follow.

❤️To the men and women of reproductive age (s***m or eggs) who will struggle with
and
To the patients out there pursuing family building:

❤️Your journey remains uninterrupted by this decision. Your ability to pursue fertility treatments, be it, IUI, IVF, PGT, embryo disposition decisions, etc has not changed...

With this decision, though, States now have more freedom to regulate reproductive healthcare.

Some states will be restrictive while others will be more patient centered.

I share the concern that this decision might lead to future legislative efforts in some states, including my home state of Missouri, to curtail access to contraception, rights and even assisted reproductive technology.

Please know that I remain as active as ever, both nationally and locally, to make sure access to all avenues of Reproductive health including fertility care, remain intact.

More to come.

on and any impact a weakening of it might have on the and as we await the Dobbs decision...maybe 4th of July Weekend but who knows🤷🙄

In the spirit of education ( video in the future perhaps👊), below is my understanding of the situation speaking as a private citizen who happens to be a born, raised, trained and practicing in 😉

DISCLOSURE: The views below are mine alone and do not represent my employer(s).

Fertility care in Missouri *may* be threatened should Roe be overturned or weakened. It depends on the language in any current and future bills. Day to day operations probably won't change immediately as legal maneuvers and minds navigate the language to understand risk.

👆link above from a expert legal mind familiar with Missouri’s current statutes. (No Coi)

Domino 1️⃣ If is overturned/weakened, then states decide how certain reproductive services like abortion are regulated and some states including Missouri have “trigger laws” in place to ban abortion outright.

Domino 2️⃣ Trigger law goes into effect banning abortion at all gestational ages. The State AG has already publicly said he would issue an opinion to activate the ban.

Domino 3️⃣ The Missouri trigger amendment is in an enacted 2019 bill that bans abortion after 8 weeks. That bill remains unenforceable as it is in appeal in the 8th circuit court of appeals. Look for action on this appeal once Dobbs decision is released.

Domino 4️⃣ The bill itself defines abortion as destruction of an embryo or fetus *in the womb* and defines the various stages of an embryo. This language is critical as it relates to embryo disposition in .

🃏 In 2016, the Missouri Supreme court, in a case regarding the disposition of embryos during a divorce, ruled that embryos are not people. They are property of special designation.

Clinics will be examining the language in the SCOTUS ruling and these bills to determine what if any risks exist for fertility and miscarriage services. Until then we remain guarded.

A new video focused on .

We get a lot of questions about
📋 should I do it?
📋 what tests do I need?
📋 what is the ideal age to do it?
📋 how much?
📋 how many eggs is ideal?

In this 9 minute video I go over the counseling, testing and thought process of egg freezing.

Obviously each situation is unique so talk to your .

Okay , new video on protocols.

This one is about so called or hybrid protocols and how they work

📋There is a lot of variation in how these protocols work but generally they include a combination of both oral medication ( or and varying doses of injectable medications like gonal f, follistim, or menopur

📋They can be used in a variety of situations across all diagnoses.

📋These protocols *can* be associated with lower medication costs.

Check out the video about and share with anybody on an to learn more.

As always talk to your if you have questions about your protocol.

➡️ Next video will be a guide on what to expect when exploring

New video on protocols:
Luteal priming

In some patients the use of high dose estrogen can be used to synchronize response and or optimize communication between brain and o***y to prime the ovaries better for stim.

The indications for these protocols vary so talk to your .

Share this video (and the others in the series 😎) with anyone who wants to better understand how protocols work.

💪👀Did you guys catch this?
in action

Read closely

The city of has extended treatment benefits to its employees.

A win for helping the people in the region struggling with .

Thanks to the alderpersons who sponsored the resolution and thanks to whoever was involved, behind the scenes, advocating for this new benefit.

We will continue to see more employers in the coming decade add benefits.

Today I am thinking of my and all the moms out there.

Obviously as we point out every year, as a this day means something a bit different to our patients and today I always like to acknowledge

❤️those who are working so hard to be a mom

❤️those who worked so hard to be a mom

And

❤️those who are working to make sure all paths to motherhood are protected now and forever (more on that later👊)

We see you all and we are forever indebted to our moms and always alongside, supporting those who are in pursuit of

With the crew crew recognizing the out there.

Remember.
Whether you know it or not.
There is a good chance that someone in your immediate circle is struggling with .

Also, many of you have heard me say it but I'll say it again.

Many of us have grown up around the idea that if you "Have s*x once, there is a 100% of conceiving"

Our junior high s*xual education left us with this idea that humans are super efficient at reproducing.

Messaging to try and minimize unintended pregnancy perhaps but with the unintended consequence of leaving generations of individuals feeling isolated and ashamed if they could not get "right away."

We must not forget our commitment in educating people how their bodies work.

New video alert
protocols explained:

Here I am talking about the antagonist protocol.

Perhaps the most commonly used protocol. Usually the first protocol for many

Really good at reducing risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome

protocols explained

New video lupron based protocols

This video explains the "Long agonist protocol" which has other various names:

Ex.Mid Luteal lupron
Ex.Down regulation

This is sort of the OG protocol and has been around since the late 80s early 90s. It's been commonly used as a "first line" protocol in many centers however the antagonists based protocols (video tomorrow😉) have largely taken over that designation.

I still use this protocol regularly.

As always talk to your doctor for specific questions related to your situation❤️👊
