As part of our ongoing efforts to promote recovery and reduce stigma surrounding mental health and substance use challenges, we are pleased to welcome our two newest Peer Support Specialists; Scott Hartman and Mary Hosto! 👏

In this role, Mary and Scott provide direct support to mentor others struggling with substance or alcohol use disorders. Similar to our other Peer Support Specialists, Mary and Scott call upon their own lived experience to foster and facilitate critical connection, whether that is referring individuals to community resources or guiding them through PreventEd's extensive yet crucial roadmap to sustainable long-term recovery.

What do Mary and Scott love about working at PreventEd so far? The amount of love each staff member leads with, regardless of their position or title. We are beyond excited to have them with us. Welcome to the team Scott and Mary! 🎉

A big thank you to Nick Singer, one of our Peer Support Specialists, for making sure extra meals from our event didn’t go to waste by donating them to those in need. Outreach doesn't require much, but it starts with looking out for each other. 🫶🏼

It only takes two milligrams of fentanyl, an amount as small as the tip of a pencil, to cause an overdose. And, it can be found in laced drugs such as he**in, methamphetamines, and cocaine—half of which contain a lethal dose. That's why measures like fentanyl test strips can be the difference in saving the life of a person who uses drugs.

We offer fentanyl test strips free of charge at several vending machines across the St. Louis area. Visit the provided link for more information. https://bit.ly/4nfffUW
