We’re still at work throughout the weekend wrapping up cleanup and making sure all of our schools are accessible. While our buildings are in good shape, some neighborhood roads need a little more attention. We’re staying in close contact with VDOT and will continue monitoring conditions over the weekend.

Our biggest focus is getting students back to school safely. We’re looking at several options to make that happen, including the possibility of temporary bus stop adjustments. We’ll know more by Sunday and will share updates with families then.
We also want to say thank you. Our staff and volunteers have shown up in big ways this week, clearing campuses, supporting students and families, and helping our community navigate a tough stretch. We are incredibly grateful for their time, care, and commitment.

Looking ahead, a special called School Board meeting will take place Monday evening where the Superintendent will present his FY27 Funding Request. The meeting will be fully virtual, and we’re sharing this early so everyone has the option to watch or participate, especially with the chance of more weather this weekend. The meeting will be livestreamed and broadcast on:

Comcast Channel 18
Cox Channel 89
Verizon Channel 2138

This is not an indication of Monday’s operating status. Thank you for staying connected, informed, and supportive.
