Summer 2022 brought big changes for Sherwood Massage!

I am making exciting changes in my business โ€“ which includes Elements Running Education running coaching for women. Right now this means that I'm not taking on new massage clients and continue to work with a limited base of established clients only. I'm no longer at my previous location in Sherwood.

I'm still here - been busy! My schedule is currently full, and I have a waiting list for new clients.

This happens every now and again when bookings really pick up. It's very important to me to support my existing clients on their treatment plans, and I always prioritize fitting in regular clients first. Those relationships and ongoing care matter to me. Before taking on a new client, I want to make sure I have availability for follow-up appointments too, as it takes a regular commitment to massage therapy to get on top of chronic pain and injuries. Happy Thanksgiving week! As much as we love the holidays, sometimes stress comes along with it. Youโ€™re out of your routine, planning elaborate meals, entertaining guestsโ€ฆ Itโ€™s normal to feel this way.

Here are some quick tips for reducing holiday stress:

๐Ÿง˜ Take breaks: Replenish your social battery by taking time for yourself in between entertaining. Meditate, do breathing exercises, anything that makes you feel centered.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Plan for movement: While itโ€™s great to relax a bit from your wellness regimen, moving your body in some way every day will help you de-stress, even if itโ€™s a light morning walk. Or if you're feeling up for something more energetic, how about a local turkey trot?

You donโ€™t have to be hurt in order to care for your body, and I love helping clients realize that. Performing small actions like this a few times a day helps you better connect with your body.

Our bodies talk to us all the time. Sometimes, when we get injured, itโ€™s because we were not listening to the signs that our bodies needed rest.

Injury is not an inevitable part of an athleteโ€™s life!

Aches and pains happen, and occasionally training too hard can catch up with the best of us. But you can reduce the likelihood of an injury and speed up recovery time when you make rest a part of your regimen. Some of my favorite ways to recover are light stretching or yoga, foam rolling, and โ€” most importantly โ€” massage. Nothing reduces stress, eases soreness and improves circulation quite like it.

Itโ€™s time to stop thinking of massage as a sporadic, luxurious treat and more like a necessary part of healing and recovery. 'Like' if you're with me on this! ๐Ÿ˜„
