STAGES OF CROWN HAIR LOSS- Hair loss that starts at the crown is more a reflection of internal hormonal issues than anything else. This post breaks down the major hormonal conditions responsible for crown hair loss-
🛑Stress- The hormone Cortisol can target and damage the hair follicle causing hair to start falling out and thinning in the crown after a stressful episode.
🛑Iron deficiency- ferritin is responsible for regulating iron deficiency. Low serum ferritin gives rise to a condition called anemia this will often lead to hair loss.
🛑Aging- Androgenic effects of testosterone can also intensify hair loss – testosterone’s metabolite dihydrotestosterone (DHT) can produce progressively weaker hair due to the follicle’s failure to thrive When menopausal symptoms are present, low levels of estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone are responsible for hair loss.
🛑PCOS: This is a common female endocrine disorder based on a cluster of symptoms, with equivalent reality of elevated androgens, women lose scalp hair, while simultaneously growing hair in places where men usually get it – face, chest and back. Although there is no cure for PCOS, treatment is usually focused on managing symptoms.
Now the main culprits have been identified, we put in gear our therapies which help encourage new hair follicles by initiating the anagen phase. We use methods and products which regulate cellular expression that is required for hair follicle cycling. Also by encouraging blood circulation of oxygen-rich red blood cells to feed the hair follicles and vitamins like B12, also known as cobalamin, which promote healthy hair growth by assisting in the production of these red blood cells.
