Portland Junior Beach

Portland Junior Beach Summer beach volleyball clinics and tournaments for boys and girls 12-18 years of age. Players do not need to have a partner to attend clinics.

Portland Junior Beach is in it’s 11th year of running clinics and tournaments. This beach program is for intermediate to advanced players, however beginner clinics will be offered for players who are new to beach. We recommend that players have a good knowledge of the indoor game and have played on a team. Players will be working on partnering skills for beach doubles not learning how to play volleyball for the first time. Players can choose how many clinics they want to attend. Sign up for tournaments is separate from clinic registration. Registration forms for both clinics and tournaments can be downloaded at portlandjuniorbeach.com. Wendy Stammer is Portland Junior Beach’s director and founder. Wendy played professionally indoor as well as beach quads and beach doubles after her college career at LSU. Playing on teams in Italy, Germany and the United States, Wendy competed at the professional level for 18 years.

And, that’s a wrap! PJB ended its summer of clinics and tournaments yesterday with a Parent/Child Quads tournament. It is so much fun to watch the players compete with their parents. Great fun! Great respect! Great appreciation! Congratulations to the team of Jesse, Macy, Clay and Maren for taking home the championship! Terrific play by all of the teams who played yesterday at Delker Dunes. It is bitter sweet to say goodbye to the summer but we will see you in the winter when training picks up again! Yes, we are working on a winter beach program!! More details to come! Good luck to the high school players and tryouts next week! See you all on the indoor court!

Tia and Sylvie took 4th in the Silver bracket of 14 A in their first tournament ever of playing together. 13U power team of Maeve and Georgia had an a strong finish at the 14 Open division taking 5th in their first tournament Gold Division.
