This!

Growing up, I was surrounded by
phenomenal women.
Productive women.
Ambitious women.
Loving women.
Fierce women.

But these women were also stressed women.
Anxious women. Self-critical women. Exhausted women.

I saw how tired they were from trying to juggle it all the career, the kids, the flat stomach and spotless house and home cooked meals. I saw how they denied themselves rest until they felt like they’d earned it, only to feel lazy when they finally allowed themselves to slow down.

I realised that I didn’t know a woman who let herself relax without guilt. Not a single one. And that the archetype of the relaxed woman doesn’t even exist in our culture.

So over the last few years, role modelling what it means to be a relaxed woman has been my practice. I’m still working on it. But the intention of becoming a relaxed woman has changed my life.
