As an acupuncturist, I’ve found that many of the medications my patients were turning to for chronic muscle cramps and spasms were causing greater problems than they were solving. Yet, it was extremely difficult to find a natural alternative on the market that I could confidently recommend.

Looking for a quick breakfast idea? Only have 15 minutes to spare? We urge all our clients to try coconut rice. It is a warm and filling alternative to cold cereals or processed carbs.

Coconut rice

Ingredients
2 cups basmati rice
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup canned organic coconut milk
1 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions
- Rinse and drain rice in cold water. Place in a saucepan (rice cooker) with water, coconut milk, and salt.
- Place the pot over high heat and, bring the liquid to a boil
- Stir and reduce the heat to the lowest possible setting and cover the pot tightly with the lid.
- Continue cooking for 15 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and let stand 5 minutes, covered. Fluff with fork and serve.
