Here we are with Question 47 🙋‍♂️

“What are some exercises to improve posture?”
Now I didn’t go into a lot of “exercises” in the actual video that’s because I firmly believe that if any exercise do properly with good form can be used to help with improve posture. I’ll list 3 that I commonly use for my clients and myself below. 👇

1️⃣ Band Pull-A-Part: this exercises is great for helping you correct forward shoulders or slouching.
2️⃣ Wall Slides: great for helping you develop proper shoulder mobility and overhead mechanics.
3️⃣Deadlift: this can be barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell and any other sort of bell. Deadlifts are great for hamstring mobility and back posture. It can help strengthen all the way throughout your posterior chain or backside

This is a fun one and I have been building, expanding and changing my gym for almost 10years now!
The best advice I can give you is be patient. Shop around especially on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp and eBay. These places are great to find used, cheap equipment. Most of my at home gym was built by finding things from these sites.

Now, if you want to get started right away here’s what i recommend.
1. Get yourself a bench off Amazon for like $80
2. Adjustable Dumbbells. They can be pricey but a great space saver and can last ya forever.
3. A pull-up bar. $20 for a doorframe one. If you struggle with pull-ups you can spend like $50-$100 dollars on a good suspension trainer.
4. One of my favorite and most underrated tools. Resistance bands. I had a set last me 7yrs for like $30.

There ya go, get yourself started for less than $300.00. That’s cheaper than most car payments these days.

This one is near & dear to me, dealing with my own injuries and finding ways to workout over these past 10 months and ruining my shoulder in my early 20’s. But with life comes wisdom 🙏

The Question- How do I calculate my target heart rate for cardio workouts?

Target heart rate is generally expressed as a percentage (usually between 50 percent and 85 percent) of your maximum safe heart rate. The maximum rate is based on your age, as subtracted from 220. So for a 35-year-old(Me), maximum heart rate is 220 minus 35, or 185 beats per minute. At a 50 percent exertion level, your target would be 50 percent of that maximum, or 92-93 beats per minute. At an 85 percent level of exertion, your target would be around 157 beats per minute. Therefore, the target heart rate that a 35-year-old would want to aim for during exercise is 92 to 157 beats per minute.
But there’s an easier way to figure it out if you want to skip the math: Wear a fitness tracking device, or exercise on a treadmill or other machine that calculates target heart rate for you.
