Mindfulness is key when coping with chronic anxiety.

These are key techniques I teach my clients and help them use in their daily lives.

If youโ€™re feeling anxious, try one!

โšก๏ธ Deep breathing helps to activate a relaxation response and you always have access to it!

โšก๏ธ Letting those thoughts come and go is acknowledging them and allowing them come and go. You arenโ€™t pushing them away or getting attached to them!

โšก๏ธ Engaging any of your 5 senses allows you to be able to self sooth and calm yourself!

โšก๏ธ Mindful walk is amazing if youโ€™re attuned to your feet hitting the ground, your breath and observing nature around you.

โšก๏ธ Non judgmental stance is key if youโ€™re judging your anxiousness. Observe it and allow yourself to let it come and go. The more you judge, the bigger it gets.

This is what we call the dialectics concept in DBT. It is about fostering acceptance and change. โฃ

There is more than one way to look at a situation and honor both sides or truths. โฃ

You can feel fear and take courageous action. โฃ

You can feel scared and want to overcome it. โฃ
