My late husband was a resident at The Harbor at Renaissance in Stanardsville, Virginia and words cannot express how dedicated and loving every staff member was to my husband and to our family. The Harbor became our second home during his time there. You felt and saw the loving care that The Harbor gave to their residents. I lived an hour from The Harbor, and I never worried about the distance because I knew the staff was providing proper care in a wonderful and safe environment which gave me peace when I could not be there. I am grateful for the care my husband received.

I give my highest recommendation if you are considering The Harbor at Renaissance for your loved one.

Resident Spotlight: There’s a new ray of sunshine lighting up The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County, and her name is Laura Thacker!

We are honored to have Krystal Lauer, MSN, RN, FNP-BC as the in-house medical provider for The Renaissance and The Harbor. A Charlottesville native and 2020 "Hometown Hero," Krystal brings over 24 years of nursing experience and a deep love for our community.

Krystal lives by the philosophy: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” This shines through in her holistic approach, as she treats every resident with the same devotion she would her own family.

Beyond her extensive background in intensive care and emergency medicine, she is currently completing her Doctorate at Grand Canyon University, focusing her research on reducing depression among seniors. When she isn’t caring for our residents or studying, she enjoys traveling with her husband and three sons.
