🤧 It’s that time of year when common viruses spread among kids, including RSV, flu, COVID-19, and the common cold.

These illnesses often share similar symptoms like fever, cough, tiredness, and a runny or stuffy nose.

📊 The chart below from the American Academy of Pediatrics shows symptoms that can help tell them apart.

👶 Almost all children get RSV at least once before age 2. For most kids, it feels like a mild cold—but some children can get very sick. Keep a close eye on symptoms and call your pediatrician if they worsen.

Hand hygiene along with respiratory hygiene is the most important method of preventing and controlling the spread of infections.
Everyone should:
📍wash hands regularly with soap and water;
📍carry tissues at all times;
📍cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing and use a tissue which is disposed of quickly and carefully in a bin.
📍antibacterial hand gels and wipes are not a substitute for washing hands, as gels and wipes may not adequately remove germs and bugs in the way that running water can. However, using such gels after hand washing with soap and water may reduce the risk of picking up infections.
