Be Still Counseling PLLC

Be Still Counseling PLLC Sometimes we choose change and then other times it chooses us.

Life can feel like a never ending cycle of storm after storm and despite your best efforts, you cannot stop it. I understand the frustrations that come when you just want peace in your life, but there never seems to be any. I can understand the type of anxiety when you haven’t even opened your eyes in the morning and you already feel a heavy weight on your chest that feels like your breath is being ripped out of you. You scream, cry, and beg for it to all go away as you feel yourself slipping deeper into the pain you are experiencing. As a mother, wife, daughter, sister, you name it, I have been in life's darkest valleys like many of you reading these very words. Though you may feel alone and like there is no one there to talk to or to help you, I am here, I care and I want to hear your story. During therapy I help clients learn how to become their authentic self, gain control and make life more manageable. We work together by learning to control your emotions and letting go of the situations you cannot control to increase the function of daily life. We look at previous memories and moments that are holding you back from your future by exposing those instead of keeping them hidden, increasing more shame, guilt, and remorse. We will work together to increase your confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, courage, compassion and connectedness so you can, be more present, patient, persistent and joyful.

🌟 December is Here… and So Are the Feelings We Don’t Talk About Enough

A message for the grieving heart

December is beautiful—lights twinkling, families gathering, songs rising in the air… but for many, this month also awakens a kind of ache that sits quietly behind the festivities.
An ache that memory stirs.
An ache only God fully sees.
An ache that whispers, “It shouldn’t hurt this much during the holidays.”

But can I tell you something gently and truthfully?

Grief doesn’t check the calendar.
It doesn’t pause because it’s Christmas.
It doesn’t soften just because everyone else is celebrating.

Some of you are stepping into December with:
✨ an empty chair
✨ a name you can’t say without tears
✨ a family that looks different this year
✨ a memory that feels both comforting and crushing
✨ a season that feels heavier than holy

If that’s you, hear this with all the tenderness in the world:

God is close to the brokenhearted — yes, right now, right here, in December.

(Psalm 34:18)

Jesus came into a world full of grief, loss, and longing.
He understands what it means to weep… to miss… to feel the weight of humanity.
He doesn’t ask you to hide your sorrow under tinsel or pretend your heart isn’t aching.

He sits with you in it.

He calls you by name.
He whispers, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

This season isn’t just about celebration —
It’s about Emmanuel.
God with us.
God with you.
In the tears.
In the memories.
In the empty spaces.
In the longing for what was and the uncertainty of what will be.

If December feels heavy instead of merry, you are not alone.
If your joy and sorrow are tangled together, God holds both.
If you’re grieving this year, may you know:

💛 Your grief is not a lack of faith.
💛 Your tears are not weakness.
💛 Your memories are sacred.
💛 Your story still matters to God.

And in the quiet places where grief feels loudest, may Christ meet you with a peace that doesn’t make sense, a comfort that truly heals, and a hope that carries you into each new day.

This Christmas, may you feel Emmanuel — God with you — more deeply than ever.

If you’re grieving, struggling, or simply navigating a tender December, Be Still Counseling is here to hold space for you.
You don’t have to walk this season alone. 💛

✨ As We Head Into the Holidays… ✨

The holiday season can be a beautiful time of connection, celebration, and reflection. But for many, it can also stir up heavy emotions—grief, loneliness, stress, family tension, or memories that make this time of year feel anything but merry.

If this season feels hard for you, please hear this: you are not alone, and nothing is “wrong” with you for feeling this way. Your feelings are valid. Your story matters. And even in difficult seasons, hope is still present—sometimes quietly, sometimes gently, but always available.

At Be Still Counseling, we believe there is room for both joy and heaviness… for celebration and healing… for laughter and tears. Wherever your heart is landing this holiday season, we are here to walk alongside you.

🌟 This year, give yourself permission to:
• Set boundaries that protect your peace
• Slow down instead of pushing through
• Grieve what needs grieving
• Hold onto moments of joy when they come
• Ask for help when you need it
• Remember that healing is not linear

Hope isn’t loud—it’s steady. It’s the small moments of breath, the quiet reminders that you’re still growing, still surviving, still becoming.

If you need support during this season, our doors are open and we’re here to walk with you. 🤍

You don’t have to navigate the holidays alone.

🌿 Friendly Reminder:
You don’t have to earn rest by being exhausted.
You’re allowed to pause simply because you’re human. ✨

Take a breath.
Stretch your shoulders.
Drink some water.
Say something kind to yourself.

Your worth isn’t measured by your productivity—
it’s already settled. 💛

Be gentle with yourself today.

🔥 Stress doesn’t always look “stressed out.”

Sometimes it looks like irritability, exhaustion, stomach issues, or forgetting everything on your to-do list.
If your body is yelling louder than your words… it might be time to slow down and talk to someone.

🌿 Overt vs. Covert Narcissism: Understanding the Difference 🌿

Narcissistic traits can show up in many forms, and they aren’t always loud or obvious. The image below highlights some of the key differences between overt and covert narcissistic behaviors. Understanding these patterns can help individuals recognize unhealthy dynamics, set boundaries, and pursue healthier relationships.

It’s important to remember:
✅ These characteristics exist on a spectrum
✅ Only a trained professional can diagnose a personality disorder
✅ Awareness is not about labeling others, but about gaining clarity, safety, and insight

If you’ve been navigating confusing relationship patterns or emotional manipulation, you’re not alone. Support is available, and healing is possible.

💬 If you’d like help making sense of your experiences or strengthening your boundaries, Be Still Counseling is here for you.
