About Tzu Chi Foundation (www.tzuchi.us):
Tzu Chi is an international humanitarian, non-governmental organization with humble beginnings. It was founded in 1966 by Dharma Master Cheng Yen, a frail Buddhist nun to help the poor in eastern Taiwan. Today, it has 502 offices worldwide serving locally and globally in the 4 areas of charity including disaster relief, medicine, education, and humanistic culture. Tzu Chi fundamentally remains a grassroots organization, and volunteer run. Some of our collegiate events include:
* Food distribution to low-income families
* Health fair and mobile clinic services
* Senior home visits
* Environmental protection and restoration
* Promoting healthy and sustainable living

In addition to service activities, we meet for general meetings and social gatherings. We also have intercollegiate events with UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC San Francisco, San Jose and San Francisco colleges. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US!
