When any parent or caregiver becomes frustrated with infant crying, make sure to prioritize the baby's safety. Taking a break is OKAY and can HELP diffuse tension. Here are some examples of what to do:

πŸ’œ Place the baby in a safe crib or bassinet.
πŸ’œ Step away for a few minutes to calm down.
πŸ’œ Practice deep breathing to regulate your emotions.
πŸ’œ Reach out for support from family or friends.
πŸ’œ Engage in self-care to help yourself relax and charge.

It is normal to feel overwhelmed but seeking support is a sign of strength.

In the heat of summer, we focus on the temperature and degrees measured by the Fahrenheit scale, when really, the most important degrees are the 180 degrees it takes to check the back seat.

Know who or what's in the back seat of your vehicle, and do not leave anyone behind.

Hey everyone,

I want to take a moment to talk about something incredibly serious and close to my heart: Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). This tragic condition occurs when a baby or young child is shaken violently, leading to severe brain injury, lifelong disabilities, or even death.

🍼 Why It's Critical to Know:

Babies have weak neck muscles and fragile brains.
Shaking a baby can cause their brain to move back and forth within the skull, leading to bruising, swelling, and bleeding.

πŸ‘Ά Key Facts:

SBS is 100% preventable.
It often happens when a caregiver becomes frustrated or angry, usually due to a baby's crying. There are safe and effective ways to soothe a crying baby and manage caregiver stress.

πŸ›‘ What You Can Do:

Never shake a baby, for any reason.
Share this knowledge with everyone who might care for your child.
Learn and teach calming techniques and ways to handle stress.
Seek help if you feel overwhelmedβ€”it's a sign of strength, not weakness.

πŸ™ Remember:

If you ever find yourself overwhelmed, place the baby in a safe place, like their crib, and take a moment to calm yourself. Reach out to a friend, family member, or helpline for support.

Let's all spread the word and help protect our little ones from this preventable tragedy. ❀️
