In physical therapy, one of the many things we look at is how the feet function. If someone has pes planus, otherwise known as flat feet, physical therapy can help! We aim at strengthening the muscles on the bottom of the feet, which are called foot intrinsic muscles! This is one of the few ways we make it fun for Ms. Kelsey! 🎉👣

Today is World Prematurity Day! This day is observed to highlight the challenges of preterm birth. Per the Global Foundation For The Care of Newborn Infants "1 in 10 babies are born prematurely, worldwide." A premature baby is born before 37 weeks of Gestation, while a typical pregnancy is 40 weeks of Gestation. We want to help spread awareness of the challenges of preterm birth, such as respiratory issues, retinopathy(vision issues), and the effects it has on gross motor, fine motor, and speech delays in the future. We are wearing our purple today to support all of the families that have been through a preterm birth and help to support them in navigating obstacles as well. Together we can help spread awareness! 💜
