Texas heat can be dangerous, but a few simple steps can keep you safe:

• Stay hydrated—drink water regularly
• Dress in light-colored, loose-fitting clothes and wear a wide-brimmed hat
• Avoid peak sun hours from 10 AM to 4 PM
• Use SPF 30+ and reapply often
• Watch for signs of heat stroke: dizziness, headache, nausea, or confusion
• Never leave anyone in a hot car, even for a short time
