The Lindell House
Infection Control Plan

Visitation
1. Visitors should remain in resident rooms. This allows for social distancing within their room and limits visitor movement within the home. If visitor needs to enter other parts of the home, we ask that they continue to practice 6-foot social distancing as well as wear a face mask.
2. Staff will screen visitors for symptoms of illness i.e. check temperature, monitor for cough/cold symptoms, known exposure to COVID-19, and ensure presence of a face covering.
4. The home has the right to refuse visitation based upon screening and adherence to infection control measures including hand hygiene, use of face covering, and social distancing.
5. We are limiting the number of visitors to 2 per individual at a time/per day.
7. Visitors should not enter the home before being screened.
8. We will disinfect any areas of the home where visitors have been with an approved EPA registered disinfectant after each visit.
Communal Dining
1. Ensure 6 feet of space between each individual.
2. Plate food individually rather than family style.
3. Emphasize hand hygiene before and after meals.
Outside Activities (MD Visits, family home visits etc.)
1. Adhere to infection prevention measures including hand hygiene, use of face covering, and social distancing
2. Ensure face covering for all individuals.
3. Maintain social distance wherever possible, particularly in community settings. It is important to avoid close contact (being within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer).
4. Ask residents upon return if they have had any exposure or close contacts with known COVID-19 (Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer).

Staff
Staff will check temperature upon arriving to work. Staff will not come to work if exhibiting symptoms of illness such as GI symptoms, malaise and/or excessive fatigue, cough/cold symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19.
Staff will practice good hand hygiene throughout their shift with frequent washing of hands with antibacterial soap upon arrival to work, before cooking, before leaving restroom, after laundry and housework, before resident contact and after resident contact.
Staff will attempt to maintain 6-foot social distancing with residents. If closer contact is warranted, staff will wear a face mask and wash hands before and after contact with resident.
Bathrooms will be cleaned twice a day with approved EPA registered disinfectant and more often if needed.
Kitchen area will be cleaned at least 3 times a day with approved EPA registered disinfectant with each meal and/or food prep.
Trash cans will be emptied daily.
Mail/packages will be wiped with approved EPA registered disinfectant before delivery to resident.

Our Story

HomeShare was established to assist the older population to live independently in their own homes, or with a roommate, in order to remain active in their own community. Most of us who have worked for a living do not have the resources to hire someone to stay with us and “ help around the house” as we get older. Yet, there are no programs in place to assist us with this need other than going to an Assisted Living Center or Rest Home. Our families are working and trying to fill in the gaps as best they can. We believe by connecting individuals to live together and remain independent is a win win for everyone.

The spring of 2020 we completed renovating a beautiful country cottage in Greene county with rooms for 4-6 senior citizens who just need a little help around the house to remain independent. Amenities Include: All housekeeping services, 3 home-cooked meals/day, staff available 12 hours a day and transportation to medical appointments.

Two of the rooms were built to accommodate couples. So many times it seems one mate requires more help than the other can provide and the couple is split apart. One mate is left in their home while their mate is living in another facility. We are excited to offer this solution. Personal care and home health services can be performed in our home as needed by local agencies, and allow you to remain together here.
