Happy Spring Friday 🌿

As the weather warms up, it’s a great reminder that caring for your mental health doesn’t always have to be complicated.

Getting outside and moving your body—even for a short walk—can:
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve mood and energy levels
• Support better sleep
• Help regulate your nervous system

Fresh air, sunlight, and movement all work together to gently bring your body back into balance.

You don’t have to do anything intense—just step outside, take a few deep breaths, and let your body move in whatever way feels good today.

Your mental health matters—sometimes the smallest shifts can make a big difference. 🌼

Transgender Day of Visibility just passed, and Autism Awareness Week is happening now.

These two important awareness moments invite us to think about identities that are often discussed separately—but sometimes overlap.

What many people don’t realize is that there is a growing body of research exploring the connection between autism and transgender identity. Many individuals hold both identities, and with that can come unique strengths—but also unique challenges.

Autistic transgender individuals often face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and social stress, not because of who they are, but because of the barriers and misunderstanding they experience in society.

In our newest blog, we explore:
• What research says about autism and gender diversity
• Why mental health challenges can increase at this intersection
• How families, communities, and therapists can offer meaningful support

Understanding leads to compassion. Compassion leads to better support.

For many people, the recent ruling around conversion therapy may sound like a legal or political debate.

But for many LGBTQ+ individuals—and for the therapists who work with them—the impact is deeply personal.

In our newest blog post, one of our clinicians shares both personal experience and professional insight into why affirming mental health care matters, the real harm conversion therapy can cause, and what ethical therapy should look like.

This conversation matters, especially for LGBTQ+ youth who deserve spaces where they are supported, respected, and safe to be themselves.

Take a few minutes to read the full post and join the conversation.

We had such a great time this week at the Checkup for the Neckup event hosted by MSU Student Counseling Services! 💙

Our co-owner and therapist, Amanda Coleman, and our office manager, Chloe Frey, were there representing Monarch Counseling & Wellness and had the opportunity to connect with so many students throughout the afternoon. They loved getting to share about the services we offer and meeting members of the MSU community.

This event provided students the chance to receive brief mental health check-ins and learn about resources available both on campus and throughout the community, and we were honored to be included among the organizations present.

We’re incredibly grateful to MSU Student Counseling Services for inviting us to participate and for the work they do every day to support student wellbeing.

We always love opportunities to get out into the community, meet students face-to-face, and be part of conversations that help normalize and support mental health.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table—we loved meeting you! ✨

What if supporting someone with BPD isn’t about fixing them at all?

Most people try to help by solving, advising, or “making things better”…
But that’s often not what’s actually needed.

In fact, the most powerful kind of support looks very different.

Our latest blog, “Walking Beside, Not Fixing,” breaks down:
• What actually helps (and what doesn’t)
• How to show up without losing yourself
• Why validation matters more than solutions

Because real support isn’t about changing someone—
it’s about helping them feel understood.

✨ You Are Not Broken. You Are Healing. ✨

Borderline Personality Disorder is one of the most misunderstood mental health diagnoses—often wrapped in stigma, shame, and harmful myths.

But here’s the truth:
💛 You are not “too much”
💛 You are not beyond help
💛 And you are absolutely capable of healing

Healing isn’t linear. It’s messy, courageous, and deeply human—but it is possible. Research and lived experiences continue to show that with the right support, people with BPD can build stability, meaningful relationships, and a life that feels worth living.

Our latest blog, “Not Broken, Just Healing”, explores what BPD really is, challenges the stigma, and offers a compassionate lens for understanding yourself or someone you love.

👉 Read it here:

Let this be your reminder:
Healing doesn’t mean becoming someone new—it means becoming more you.

Explore the complexities of borderline personality disorder and understand its ties to trauma, emotions, and relationships.
