July Sit & Sew was making Quilt of Valor blocks. Amelia Fox volunteered to cut strips for the event. The group made 72 blocks, enough for 2 quilts using the Barn Raising pattern.
Thanks to all the members who participated!!
We also cut up & packaged one of the rolls of batting the Guild purchased for community projects. These kits will be available at the July Guild meeting.

The wonderful 2025 Donation Quilt is continuing on its journey.

Buren Blankenship was the winner of the drawing. Buren loved the quilt, it reminded him of Habitat houses. He contacted Amanda Henry, executive director of the local Starkville Habitat about the possibility of donating the quilt to them.

They were delighted. The executive board is exploring ways to use the quilt as a fund raiser to benefit Habitat’s local work.

Below you will find a photo of Buren presenting the quilt to Amanda Henry, executive director of the local Habitat. Be sure to notice the children’s artwork in the office just behind Buren. The artwork looks like our house blocks!

We hope this will make your quilter’s hearts very happy!

We have been selling tickets to win this exquisite quilt, and the time has arrived to draw the winner. The individual blocks were meticulously pieced by Guild members, with top construction by Carol Punday and machine quilting by Jane Valencia. The drawing for the quilt will take place on March 20 at our monthly Guild meeting. We will attempt to conduct a Facebook Live stream of the drawing; please check our page for updates. "May the odds be ever in your favor".

From Melanie Moody:

Good afternoon, I was hoping we could post this link on ghe Guild page. Verurschka, the designer of the quilt did a workshop at West Al last year. I thought since Barbara B had a panel with this, our members might be interested. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/15u6bXMjt9/
