After returning to central Pennsylvania following her husbandโ€™s passing, Jeanette Van Deusen didnโ€™t have health insurance and couldnโ€™t afford to see a doctor. Thanks to Beacon Clinic in Uptown Harrisburg, sheโ€™s back on her medication for high blood pressure and able to monitor her health at home.

Back-to-school jitters? Hereโ€™s when itโ€™s more than first-day nerves.

A little nervousness is normal, but lingering anxiety can show up as:
๐Ÿคข Stomachaches or headaches
๐Ÿš‘ Frequent trips to the nurse
๐Ÿ’ญ Repeated worries

Penn State Health pediatric counselor Anna Nase recommends:
โœ”๏ธ Check your own energy โ€“ kids notice parentsโ€™ emotions
โœ”๏ธ Reset sleep routines โ€“ a well-rested body = calmer mind
โœ”๏ธ Familiarize your child with school โ€“ tours or hallway walks can ease anxiety

Reach out for support โ€“ teachers, counselors, or therapists can help kids navigate worries. Supporting them early sets the stage for a strong start! ๐Ÿ’ช

After more than two decades of lifesaving service, Life Lion helicopter N600LL has officially retired from the skies.

In its 24 years, N600LL was more than an aircraft โ€” it was a symbol of hope, carrying patients and crews through thousands of critical missions across central Pennsylvania.

๐Ÿ“ธ As we shared earlier this month, N600LL took its final flight with the same pilot who first flew it in 2001. Now, we invite you to look back at its remarkable journey in photos: https://bit.ly/460E28i

๐Ÿ”น Medical equipment and technology at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center
๐Ÿ”น Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute's 2026 relocation.
๐Ÿ”น Greatest needs at Lancaster, Hampden, Holy Spirit and Milton S. Hershey medical centers.

The tribute was made possible by Penn State Healthโ€™s Military and Veteran Business Employee Resource Group, who organized, supplied and placed the flags.

โ˜€๏ธ With rising temperatures, staying hydrated is a must!
Dehydration can sneak up quickly and take a toll on your healthโ€”causing fatigue, dizziness, headaches, dry mouth, muscle cramps, and even serious conditions like heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
To help you stay refreshed and healthy, the Penn State Health Medical Group - Colonnade team shares these simple tips to keep your hydration on point all day long:

๐Ÿ’ง Drink water regularly โ€“ Donโ€™t wait until youโ€™re thirsty. Sip throughout the day.
๐Ÿ‰ Eat water-rich foods โ€“ Fruits like watermelon, cucumbers, and oranges help boost hydration.
๐Ÿšฐ Limit dehydrating drinks โ€“ Cut back on caffeine and alcohol, especially in the heat.
๐ŸŽ’ Take water with you โ€“ Keep a refillable bottle handy, whether youโ€™re at work, running errands, or outdoors.
๐Ÿงข Dress smart โ€“ Lightweight, light-colored clothes can help reduce fluid loss from sweating.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe!
