Traci Richardson Positive Performance

Traci Richardson Positive Performance I am a physical therapist in the State College area with over 17 years of experience. DPT from SRU.

Certified MDT by the US McKenzie Institute, certified as a medical professional by Titleist Performance Institute My professional career has undergone exciting changes over the past year. I made the decision to independently contract as a physical therapist in order to provide patients with my expertise and individual attention in settings where they are able to receive exceptional care. I believe that physical therapists are a vital part of our health care system because we provide physical and emotional support to patients whose lives are complicated by pain and dysfunction. I hope to develop my Positive Performance page as an informative page for my patients, family, friends, and other interested healthcare consumers. My primary focus as a physical therapist is to encourage people to overcome physical obstacles and pain to keep moving and aspire to reach personal goals. My intention is to have posts that will provide tips and education regarding posture, emphasis on correct exercise performance, as well as demonstrations of good body mechanics for various activities.

The Holiday sugar-palooza is finally over! As we finish the last of the homemade fudge, it’s time to refocus on our health. Particularly, blood sugar stability!

Maintaining balanced blood sugar is a fundamental aspect of health that should not be overlooked.

Let’s explore five compelling reasons why in 2024 you should prioritize blood sugar balance

✅ Preventing Insulin Resistance:
Persistent elevation of blood sugar levels can lead to heightened insulin resistance, a condition associated with an increased risk of health issues such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and heart disease [1].

✅ Improving Energy Levels:
Balanced blood sugar levels play a pivotal role in sustaining stable energy throughout the day, preventing the onset of energy crashes and mood swings that can adversely impact daily functioning [1].

✅ Boosting Brain Function:
Healthy blood sugar levels is essential for optimal brain function and cognitive performance, contributing to enhanced mental clarity and overall well-being [2].

✅ Supporting Healthy Weight:
The regulation of blood sugar levels is intricately linked to weight management. Balanced levels enable the body to regulate weight effectively, preventing undesirable weight gain and promoting a healthy weight [3].

✅ Reducing Inflammation:
Elevated blood sugar levels have been linked to chronic inflammation, increasing the susceptibility to diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cancer, and cardiovascular issues [4].

This is a great time of year for a cup of herbal tea. When labels say “natural flavors” they are often made from something that once was “natural” but now is denatured.
