Happy Memorial Day from Foxdale Village!

Join us on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Foxdale Village Auditorium for a community panel on the natural resources of Rockview land. Local experts will share insights on the environment, agriculture, water systems, and history of the Rockview State Correctional Institution property, including the value of its soils for farming, how groundwater supports Spring Creek, and which ecological features should be protected and preserved.

Panelists include representatives from ClearWater Conservancy, PA Farm Bureau, Mt. Nittany Conservancy, and the Spring Creek Watershed Commission. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.

This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

We are proud to celebrate Jeannine Shade, Assistant Administrator of Anthony House at Foxdale Village, on her graduation from LeadingAge PA’s Fellows in Leadership program!

Over the past nine months, Jeannine has dedicated herself to strengthening her leadership skills, building meaningful connections across the field, and developing innovative strategies to support the future of aging services. This prestigious program equips leaders with the tools, insight, and confidence to navigate real-world challenges and inspire positive change within their communities.

Jeannine’s commitment to growth, excellence, and compassionate leadership continues to make a lasting impact at Foxdale Village. We are excited to see all that she will continue to accomplish as she brings these valuable experiences back to our community.

We are excited to share that Foxdale Village CNA, Ralph Bergado, has been honored with LeadingAge PA’s Distinguished Service Award – Direct Caregiver of the Year.

Since joining Foxdale in 2019, Ralph has made an incredible impact through his compassionate care, unwavering reliability, and calm, steady presence, especially in challenging moments. Known for arriving early, staying late, and always putting residents first, he truly goes above and beyond every single day.

As the Foxdale Village Director of Nursing shared, Ralph is “one in a million”—a trusted teammate, a resident favorite, and someone who consistently rises to the occasion with strength, kindness, and heart. From supporting residents through critical moments to being the person everyone turns to when help is needed, Ralph exemplifies what it means to care.

We are so proud of Ralph and grateful to have him as part of the Foxdale community. This recognition is so well deserved! Congratulations!

Senior Spotlight: Zanah Absi, Dining Associate

We’re excited to recognize Zanah Absi as she prepares to graduate from Penn State! After graduation, Zanah is headed for an exciting next chapter, joining the Management in Training Program with Auberge Resorts in Charleston, South Carolina.

With a few kind strangers jumping in, we formed the most untrained but enthusiastic Duck Es**rt Squad this town has ever seen! Thanks to the drivers who stopped and let the ducklings waddle through.
