June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and we can’t ignore what we’ve seen time and time again.
Too many men are silently battling internal wars—with pressure, pain, and past wounds—without a safe space to just be.
Instead of opening up, they’re often taught to numb it:
🥃 with alcohol
🧱 with emotional walls
🏃🏽♂️ with overworking, avoidance, or isolation
🗣️ with “I’m fine” when they’re really not
And it’s not just about him.
His silence, his struggle, his self-neglect—it impacts everyone connected to him.
The children waiting for his presence.
The partner longing for emotional connection.
The friends who don’t know how to ask the real questions.
The community that misses out on his full potential.
Unaddressed pain doesn’t disappear. It leaks. And often, it spills onto the people we love the most.
At S.T.A.T. (Start The Awareness Today), we’re committed to creating safe, judgment-free spaces where men—especially Black and minority men—can take off the mask, speak the truth, and begin to heal.
It’s okay to admit you’re tired.
It’s okay to need help.
It’s okay to want more for your mind, body, and soul.
You are not weak for feeling. You are human for healing.
Let’s stop telling men to “man up” without showing him how to process and cope healthily. It's toxic.
Let’s start telling them: “You don’t have to do this alone.” and "You deserve peace, too."
If you’re a man reading this, or someone who loves one—check in. For real.
Your peace matters. Your presence matters. Your healing matters...because YOU matter and you are valuable as a human being.
