We had such a meaningful evening partnering with Sweet Nectar Lactation & Infant Feeding Support at the Statesboro Birth Circle Mom Talks! 🌸
Together, we shared on the important topic of Tethered Oral Tissues —what they are, how they can impact families, and why early support matters.
We’re so grateful for the chance to connect with this wonderful community, answer questions, and be part of the incredible work Statesboro Birth Circle is doing to bring education and support to local families.
Thank you for the invitation—we were honored to contribute! 💙
✨ Did you know? Babies are born with several normal oral tissues — but when those tissues are unusually short, thick, or tight, they can restrict movement and impact function. These are called tethered oral tissues (TOTs), and they can sometimes make feeding more challenging for both babies and parents.
This past Thursday, I had the honor of joining Dr. Stout at the Statesboro Birth Circle “Mom Talks” to share about TOTs — what they are, how they can affect feeding, and why looking at function (not just anatomy) matters most.
We also talked about the importance of a supportive team approach — from pediatricians to IBCLCs and other providers — to help families find answers and move forward with confidence. 💕
Such a meaningful night of learning and connection!
