Grief Support Groups — October 16

At Ogeechee Area Hospice, we know that grief touches everyone. Our support groups are open not only to hospice families, but to anyone in the community who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

These gatherings provide a safe space to share, understand, and begin healing together:
Men’s Group | 9:00 AM — Men who have lost a spouse/significant other
Women’s Group | 11:00 AM — Women who have lost a spouse/significant other
Mixed Group | 5:30 PM — Anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one

📍 Location: Quiet Sitting Room inside Ogeechee Area Hospice
Entrance: E. Grady Street Door or by the fountain on Donehoo Street

You don’t have to walk this journey alone — we are here to support you and your family every step of the way.

Ogeechee Area Hospice Supports VA Stand Down for Veterans

Ogeechee Area Hospice was honored to take part in this year’s VA Stand Down for Veterans, hosted by the American Legion “Dexter Allen” Post 90. The Stand Down is a vital outreach event, coordinated by the VA, that provides food, clothing, health screenings, and resources to homeless and at-risk Veterans. This year’s event welcomed more than 100 Veterans who received support, information, and connections to essential services.

As a partner in the American Legion’s ongoing efforts to care for our Veteran community, OAH coordinated with local restaurants to ensure every Veteran and family member attending had a meal provided. Our staff also spent time connecting with Veterans and community leaders, sharing how Ogeechee Area Hospice works collaboratively with the VA and Georgia Department of Veterans Services to provide professional end-of-life care for Veterans — whether at home or in our hospice facility.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve those who have served us, and to stand alongside our community partners in ensuring Veterans know they are valued, supported, and never forgotten.
