✨Yesterday, another truly historic occasion took place at the IHLA office. In a ceremony that exactly one onlooker described as "weird," the illustrious Kathryn bestowed the coveted GOAT award upon a very unsuspecting and rather confused, Megan. The ceremony began with an office-wide declaration by Kathryn, and was followed by the ceremonial passing of the golden goat into Megan's hands, which trembled as she humbly accepted. Megan held back tears as one audience member captured photos and another, so overcome with emotion, continued to work at their computer without looking up.

🐐 Ah, yes.. it was truly a day that shall be remembered for the rest of the week, probably. Who will be the next recipient of the GOAT award? Check back in another 1 to 5 months to find out. Until then, Megan shall guard her with her life.

🔈Tolerance changes — and so does overdose risk.
After even a short period without using opioids, your body’s tolerance drops. This means that using the same amount as before can lead to an overdose. This is especially important to know for people returning home after incarceration.

📍If you or a loved one is returning from incarceration, you may be able to access free resource guides and other harm reduction tools to help stay safe and connected to support.

🔈Naloxone saves lives — and anyone can use it.
Naloxone (also known as Narcan®) is a safe, easy-to-use medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes. It comes in a nasal spray or injection form and works by quickly restoring normal breathing.

✅ If you suspect an overdose:
Call 911.
Administer naloxone.
Stay with the person until help arrives.

🔗If you work in a confinement facility or support individuals returning from incarceration, learn more about how to get naloxone and other harm reduction resources at no cost: https://hubs.la/Q03KwZxq0
