If you’re covered by the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and take a weight-loss GLP-1 medication (like Wegovy or Zepbound), a change is coming.
Starting February 1, 2026, SHBP will require these medications to be prescribed through 9amHealth network in order to remain covered. Participation in their weight-management program will also be required.
👉 Coverage is continuing, but action may be needed before your current authorization expires.

🚨 Flu season is here and it is hitting hard 🤧
We are seeing a huge increase in flu cases and a surge in flu prescriptions across our community. Many pharmacies are starting to run low on Tamiflu, but we are ready.

We received a large shipment today and are fully stocked with Tamiflu and other flu treatments.

Forest Heights Pharmacy opened its doors on September 11, 2006 with the idea of bringing pharmacy and prescription service back to a personal level.
Owner and pharmacist, Ben Ross, graduated with honors from the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy in 2008. Ben is a second generation independent pharmacist who grew up working in his father’s pharmacy.
Ben and his wife, Lauren, moved to Statesboro in 2008 and have made Statesboro their permanent home. Lauren can be thanked for all of the different variety of gifts, accessories, and monogram/embroidery items that Forest Heights Pharmacy has in the store. They have two little girls, Lanie and Lucy Kate.
With great business comes growth. Forest Heights Pharmacy has added a second full time pharmacist to staff, along with multiple pharmacy technician, compounding technician and management positions.
Katie Patterson came to us after having graduated from South University School of Pharmacy in 2015.
Both Ben and Katie share their passion and expertise for pharmaceutical compounding. Having medications compounded is beneficial for multiple reasons.
A drug can be compounded for much cheaper than the commercially available product. (Example: Compounded Sildenafil vs Vi**ra)
A product is no longer available by the manufacturer, but we can compound/recreate it. (Example: Ear Drop for pain and infection)
Dosage forms can be changed. (Example: Nausea medication in cream form)
Hormone medications can be tailored to EXACTLY what the patient needs, no more, no less. (Example: BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy)
At Forest Heights Pharmacy, we look forward to serving the Bulloch County community and surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide personal, quality prescription services which we hope will make our pharmacy, your pharmacy.
