We want to say a huge thank you to Bible Baptist Church for coming out this evening and blessing our residents in such a special way. They brought thoughtful goodie bags filled with snacks, sang beautiful hymns, and shared a meaningful devotion.

What meant the most was the time they spent with our residents—sitting, chatting, and truly connecting. It was such a blessing to see the smiles, hear the singing, and feel the love in the room. Thank you for sharing your time and hearts with us tonight. 🙏✨

We had the best time this afternoon celebrating Dolly Parton’s birthday! 🎶💗

A huge thank-you to Kelly Wingate (aka “Dolly Pardon” 🤠) with Affinity Hospice for coming out and making the day so special. From karaoke that had everyone singing their hearts out to the most delicious cupcakes, it was such a treat! 🧁

There was lots of pink, plenty of cowgirl flair, and lots of laughter. Days like this are what make memories, and our residents had an absolute blast celebrating the one and only Dolly! 💕✨

We had such a wonderful evening last night with a few of our residents at A Night at the Opera at First Baptist Church in Statesboro. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and were treated to some truly beautiful opera music—it was such a special experience.

While only a few residents decided to brave the cold and join us, those who went had a great time. Everything from the atmosphere to the music was just lovely, and it made for a really memorable evening. We’re so thankful for opportunities like this to enjoy something so beautiful together. 🎶✨

We had a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Winter Wonderland with our residents! ❄️☕
Everyone enjoyed a lineup of Minute to Win It–style winter games, along with hot chocolate, coffee, and powdered donuts to keep us cozy.

We also snapped some fun photos that make it look like our residents are inside a snow globe — showing off their winter spirit! ❄️

It was the perfect way to wrap up a cold week and get everyone excited as we prepare for the snow that might be heading our way this weekend (fingers crossed 😉). Laughter, smiles, and a whole lot of winter cheer filled the room, and we loved every minute of it!

A big thank you to Madison Kate Gaston from Georgia Hospice Care for spending the afternoon with us and bringing so much fun to our day! She led a lively game of Butterbean Auction, and the residents had an absolute blast bidding, laughing, and winning some really great prizes.

The residents have officially given Madison a new nickname — “Miss Butterbean” 💚😂

Thank you, Madison, for your kindness, time, and for creating such joyful moments for our residents. We truly appreciate you!

Something new (and fun!) has arrived in our activity room — the Nex Playground! 🎉
Residents tried it out yesterday and had a blast. No controllers needed — just move your body and play! From active games to brain games and trivia, there’s something for everyone.
We’re excited about how this system will encourage movement, laughter, and friendly competition — and yes, staff might be joining in too! 😄

We had a full and wonderful week at Southern Manor, even if I didn’t capture many pictures along the way. We kicked things off with beautiful music from Hadley Campbell and communion with the Craveys. Lori Grice spent time with us working on our story binders, we enjoyed a fun game of bingo, and on Thursday morning it was such a blessing to have Donna Brigman back with us playing hymns on the piano — it had been a while, and it was so nice to hear her music filling the room again.

We also had a special visit from the Statesboro Therapy Dogs yesterday morning, and as always, they brought so many smiles, cuddles, and joy to our residents. After that, we squeezed in a shopping outing yesterday afternoon, then enjoyed Lunch Bunch at Cracker Barrel this morning, and wrapped up the week with Elizabeth K sharing beautiful hymns on the guitar. What a great way to end the week!

It was one of those weeks where we were so busy making memories that we didn’t have time for many pictures — especially while trying to get all the Christmas decorations put away — but it was truly a great week filled with music, fellowship, and joy. So thankful for everyone who helps make Southern Manor such a special place. ❤️

We are so thankful to the Craveys for coming this morning to lead devotion, sing hymns, and share communion with our residents. It was such a meaningful and peaceful way to begin the day.

A big thank you as well to Hadley C and friends for joining us and sharing their music. They always bring so much joy with their fun mix and variety of songs, and our residents truly love it.

What a beautiful way to start the new year — surrounded by faith, music, and community. 💛🎶

A little New Year’s Eve sweetness for our residents 💕
This afternoon, I passed out small bags of Hershey Kisses with a tag that read “Midnight Kisses.” Each bag had about eight kisses, just in case waiting until midnight felt a little too ambitious — that gives everyone eight chances to practice early! 😉🍫

When midnight arrives, every resident will have a kiss waiting to ring in the New Year — even if we’re not all together at that exact moment.

Just a small reminder that they are thought of, loved, and celebrated as we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026.

Happy New Year’s Eve to our residents and to all of our families! Even if you don’t see a picture posted, please know that everyone received their very own midnight kisses. 💫

Today we celebrated our residents with December birthdays! 🎉 December birthdays can sometimes get overlooked with all the Christmas excitement, but it was important to us to make sure our residents felt celebrated, remembered, and loved.

A huge thank-you to Dairy Queen of Statesboro for generously donating a delicious ice cream birthday cake — it was a sweet treat everyone enjoyed! 🍰 We also had a great time playing our birthday game, and there was plenty of laughter and friendly competition along the way.

We are so thankful for moments like these that allow us to celebrate the wonderful people who make our community so special. 💙
