Let’s Talk About Functional Depression
Sometimes depression doesn’t “look” like depression. In our culture, many of us were raised to push through, keep showing up, and handle everything with a smile. We’ve been taught that being strong means carrying it all even when it hurts.
But here’s the truth, you can be “high-functioning” and still be struggling.
Signs of Functional Depression may look like:
✨You’re always busy but feel empty inside.
✨You laugh and socialize, but it feels like a mask.
✨You show up for everyone else, but neglect your own needs.
✨You’re exhausted even after resting.
✨You keep achieving, but never feel fulfilled.
Just because you’re keeping it together on the outside doesn’t mean you’re okay on the inside.
