We are very proud of our nominees for the College of Graduate Studies Averitt Awards: Cynthia Ware (M.S. in Experimental Psychology) and Amanda Bradley (M.S. in Behavior Analysis) were nominated for the Excellence in Graduate Research Award and Alyssa Klas (M.S. in Exp Psyc) was nominated for the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award. Thank you for representing us well!

Kudos to our students at the Georgia Southern Student Scholars Symposium (GS4) that were held earlier this week. Molly Self received the Undergrad Oral Presentation Award! Victoria Grim, Amanda Bradley, Devon Dashnaw, and Felicia Tilles received honorable mentions for their Graduate Poster Presentations! Joshua Richardson, Antonea Johnson, Pamela Kplivi, Caden Stalnaker, Nicholas Dillard, Samira Farmer, and Tyler Smith received the first place award and Nicholas Dillard and Antonae Johnson received the third place award for Undergraduate Poster Presentations at the Armstrong Campus GS4! Alyssa Klas received the second place award and Monika Krah received the third place award for Graduate Poster Presentations at the Statesboro Campus GS4. Well done, all!

Dr. Karen Naufel is one of two 2024 recipients of the APA's Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP) Presidential Citation. Congratulations Karen! The STP president presents this annual award to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to STP and/or the teaching of psychology, and it represents the association's highest award in teaching. Amazing!

Congratulations to Archita Birla for being awarded the 2024 Georgia Psychological Foundation Berman-Gard Award for her dissertation titled: "Does social support moderate the effect of racial microaggressions on South Asian American young adults' wellbeing?" The GPF Berman-Gard Award is awarded to support excellence in student research focusing on disadvantaged, underserved, or disenfranchised populations.
