We were so blessed to have One Accord debut their music for the first time Friday to our residents. These beautiful ladies are so very talented and have a heart to share Gods love and music along with some Fun songs too!

Yesterday our Residents enjoyed a Fun Lunch Bunch at Holiday Pizza 🍕! They also had delicious treats from Dairy Queen and hugs and love with our furry friends from Statesboro Therapy Dogs Statesboro GA.

With Alzheimer’s Disease being the 6th leading cause of death in America and the only one in the top ten without a cure, every person will certainly come into contact with someone living with the disease.

Until there is a cure…take the Tour®

The Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT) is a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia. It is designed to give the participant an up close, hands-on experience that provides critical insight to those caring for dementia.

Would you take an hour to come through this simulation and gain a greater awareness of what it must be like to live with Dementia? The empathy and compassion it invokes will be life-changing. We offer this community service free of charge.

Please contact The Lodge at Bethany if you would like to set up a VDT for your group. After experiencing the VDT, you will be able to identify with, and better understand, the behaviors and needs of those with dementia.

The VDT uses patented sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K. Beville, M.S., a specialist in geriatrics and the founder of Second Wind Dreams®. During a Virtual Dementia Tour experience, trained facilitators guide participants outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses while they try to complete common everyday tasks and exercises. The Tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, and use the experience to provide better person-centered care.

Yesterday our Residents enjoyed a Saucy Shrimp Lunch that was finger lickin good! They got crableg boil and had the Bibs on to prove it! Fun outing with a great group! Also, a talented group of men (Rhythm 301) lead by Mary Hannah Samples entertained us with a walk thru the different sounds of music and it was fabulous!
