🐕Are you looking for a great puppy class in a safe but sensory-rich setting? Or maybe you have an older dog you want to strengthen your skills with and learn something new? Equuvation has partnered with Synapse Canine to offer PAWS WITH PURPOSE—a 5-week Skills Workshop for dogs and their humans! Join us on the farm for a special group class designed to help your dog become a well-mannered companion—all while supporting a great cause!
🐶In this course, dogs of all ages will learn (or get a refresher on) the basics: focus/name conditioning, sit, down, stay, recall, heel, leave it, and place. We’ll explore how dogs learn, helping you generalize good behavior beyond the farm (and home), and throw in a little trick training, too! Take advantage of our farm environment, where your pup can be exposed to animals, obstacles, and more!

▪️WHEN | Saturdays, 9:30-10:30am (9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4)
▪️WHERE | Equuvation Therapy + Education Center in Statesville
▪️COST | $200 for all 5 weeks*
▪️INSTRUCTOR | Stasia Dempster, CDBC
▪️DOGS | Puppies over 10 weeks are welcome (must have at least one set of vaccines). Rabies required for all dogs over 4 months.
▪️HUMANS | Handlers must be over age 12. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
▪️OTHER | Goodie bags for all students!

🌎 April 22 (today) is Earth Day—an annual event celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage people to take action to protect the planet. This year, is challenging everyone to Give an Hour for Earth – a positive environmental movement reminding us that individual actions can lead to big change. Whether you’re interested in food, fitness, the arts, sustainability, entertainment, or the outdoors, anyone can spend an hour reconnecting with and giving back to our planet. There are currently more than 77,000 hours banked in this initiative, well on the way to the goal of 125,000 hours of collective action for the planet by the end of April.

At and The Discovery Trail, we are passionate about caring for and protecting the land we have been given. Some of the ways that we do this every day include:

🗑️ Collecting litter on the road front, in the fields, and along the trails
☔️ Installing rain barrels at every Discovery Trail station
🌾 Focusing on sustainable agriculture practices

✨NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK✨
❤️April 20–26 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week—a time dedicated to celebrating the incredible impact of volunteers and inspiring others to give back through service. At Equuvation, our volunteers generously contribute more than 3,200 hours each year, helping us care for our facility and animals, while supporting the creation, growth, and delivery of our educational and therapeutic programs.
💕Throughout the week, we’ll be highlighting the many ways our volunteers make a difference—whether as individuals or in groups, through daily responsibilities, in programs, or at special events. Equuvation simply wouldn’t be what it is without this vibrant, giving community, and we are so grateful.
