Garlic, fresh freeze dried tumeric powder, and fresh ginger root tincture!
What Is a Tincture?
A tincture is a concentrated herbal extract made by soaking herbs in alcohol or vinegar to draw out the active compounds. Alcohol-based tinctures have a long shelf life and are potent.
Ingredients:
* Fresh turmeric root for pint jar I did 2 TB
* Fresh garlic cloves – 6-8 smashed cloves
* Fresh 1 big ginger root – scrape off skin
* 100 proof vodka or grain alcohol (or apple cider vinegar as a non-alcoholic alternative)
* (Optional: black pepper – enhances absorption of turmeric’s curcumin)
* Glass jar with tight-fitting lid (e.g., Mason jar)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients
* Wash and scrub turmeric and ginger roots well (peel if preferred).
* Peel garlic cloves.
* Chop or grate all ingredients finely for better extraction.
2. Fill the Jar
* Place equal parts turmeric, ginger, and garlic in the jar.
* (Optional: Add ½ tsp of freshly ground black pepper per cup of ingredients.)
* Fill the jar with alcohol, covering the herbs by at least 1–2 inches.
3. Infuse
* Seal the jar tightly.
* Store in a cool, dark place for 4–6 weeks.
* Shake the jar once daily to keep the contents mixed.
4. Strain & Bottle
* After 4–6 weeks, strain the tincture using cheesecloth or a fine mesh sieve.
* Squeeze out all liquid.
* Transfer into amber dropper bottles to protect from light.
Dosage (General Guidelines):
* Adults: 1–2 droppers (approx. 1–2 ml) 1–3 times daily
* Start small to assess tolerance, especially with garlic

* Directly under the tongue
* Diluted in water, tea, or juice
* Added to smoothies or wellness shots
How to Store
* Store in amber glass bottles to prevent light degradation.
* Keep in a cool, dark place (cupboard or pantry).
* Shelf life:
* Alcohol-based tincture – 3–5 years
* Vinegar-based tincture – 6–12 months in the fridge
