🚨 Parks & Greenway Closures🚨

For the safety of our community, all 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 in the City of Statesville NC will be closed on Thursday and Friday (09/26-09/27/24) due to current and anticipated weather conditions.

All parks and greenways are expected to open as normal on Saturday, 09/28/24, however watch here for updates.

Statesville Walks! Join Us. 🚶

The City of Statesville NC has wonderful places to exercise outdoors! Come join us for some exercise and fresh air.

We will walk at a new location each week, meet new friends, and learn a little about Statesville too!

Below are the dates and location to meet for each walk. {We will meet in the parking lot at each location except the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center and Statesville Civic Center where we will meet in the front of the building.}

The 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟎 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒘𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒅𝒐𝒐𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏 is underway, and we need YOUR input! This plan will guide the future of our state parks and outdoor recreational facilities, ensuring they meet the needs of our community.

𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔! To ensure a diverse perspective is captured, there are two outreach efforts underway for the public. The ETC Institute is conducting a mail-in scientific survey across the state through randomly selected sample of residents and we have also launched a public opinion survey for the public.

By completing the survey, you will be contributing to the development of a plan that reflects the needs and desires of our community.

It only takes 10 minutes to make a difference!

The City of Statesville NC is excited to announce its Canned Food Drive, a special initiative in honor of 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝑭𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉 throughout February. This campaign aims to collect canned food items to support local food pantries and help those in need within our community.

We have established convenient drop-off locations across the City, making it easy for residents to participate in this cause.

'And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.' 🚶

35 acre Mac Anderson Park is popular for its two miles of mostly shaded running/walking trails. It is named for the Anderson Family who owned the property for many years.

You can further your workout on the fitness equipment placed along the trail. Restrooms are on site as is a water fountain for you and your dog.

Less than 24 hours before we gather at the Statesville Civic Center for the 2022 Discover Statesville NC FUTURE Forum. Will you be there?

The City of Statesville is partnering with Discover Statesville to host a public engagement event for individuals to discuss ideas for the Future of Statesville.

Make plans to drop by the Statesville Civic Center (300 S. Center Street) anytime between 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9th to discuss your ideas about our City’s future. The forum will include 5 interactive stations. Department heads and staff will also be present to engage in conversation and answer questions.

Participants in the event will be entered to win a ‘Made In Statesville’ prize package of items produced right here in Statesville, NC.
