No matter your circumstance, there is a Bible verse to guide you. Last night in third talk, our director Rich Lane shared several verses with us to get us through many situations we will face in life. Here’s a good one to remember: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

R U living the life of an overcomer? Psalm 1 gives us wise instruction on how to do just that. At RU we recite this scripture each week. Eventually we will have it memorized. We can guide sinners and bless them and pray for them. But ultimately God’s word tells us that it is in our best interest not to make a habit of living a life close enough to allow the sin to affect our lives.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. We are working on challenges this week!
“No challenge, no change”. That’s commonly heard at RU. The RU challenges help us to learn scripture, share the ministry with others, help us be accountable in attending church services - all things that are important in growing our relationship with Christ.

A few of our students during third talk tonight. Tonight we praised the Lord for many things and carried each other’s burdens and prayed for each other. And then we ended the night with some awesome chili! It was a great night together. We are thankful for each and everyone who makes up the Statham chapter of RU.

Last night at RU, Matt brought us the message. He shared on Mark 5:1-20, the story of the Gadarene possessed with many demons. Praise God, under the blood we cannot be demonically possessed. But we do battle with Satan and darkness. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” But Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.”

Principle 6 is those who do not love the Lord will not help us serve the Lord. The kids club principle 6 is those who love God will help us serve God. The kids club principles are the positive take on the regular principles. We discussed this principle last night at our RU meeting. When you are trying to turn your life around, sometimes it’s hard to realize that you can’t hang around the same crowd. But the good news is, Christian friends who help you serve the Lord will encourage us, keep us accountable and pray for us. We are thankful for our friends at RU who help us serve the Lord!

This last Sunday was RU Sunday at our church. We were able to highlight the RU program for our church. We had some powerful testimonies, touching songs and even a “word salad” from our director! It was a wonderful day in the Lord’s house. Thank you Calvary Baptist Church for your prayers and support for all of us at RU

At RU we do three things. Talk. Talk. Talk. During our first talk, we talk to God and give Him praise for how He is working in our lives. We also discuss one of our 10 Principles. Enola was getting ready to kick off the first talk and discuss one of the principles.

Last Friday, Our RU director, Rich Lane shared a devotion on 7 signs we need revival! Here are a few of the signs. Pray for revival!
1. Your prayer closet has cobwebs and your Bible is dusty
2. You excuse sin
3. You are entertained by the things that used to grieve you
4. You are now silent where you once spoke out

Our church is wrapping up VBS this week and the theme was Wonder Junction. They had a mechanical bull and our RU students got the chance to take a ride! Fun fellowship and laughs before we started our meeting!

This past Saturday was our third annual RU picnic. Thank you to Bro Jeff and Mrs. Phyllis who are always wonderful hosts. We had a great time of fellowship and yummy food with our RU brothers and sisters!
