Dr. Wendy Rippon, Riparian LLC

Dr. Wendy Rippon, Riparian LLC I am a forensic specialist who focuses solely on violence prevention and treatment. The incidents are also preventable. This notion was first developed by the U.

Regarding treatment, my main efforts revolve around treating children and adolescents. As a parent, it can be extremely distressing to watch your child veer off course and head down the wrong path, a path that may be leading to school related issues, serious familial disruption, or even criminal charges that may follow for the rest of their life. Riparian is a company that focuses on all aspects associated with violence and I can intervene at any stage, from minor behavioral issues to interactions within the criminal justice system. I also offer a number of additional resources to reduce violence in schools and in the workplace. Mass shootings in schools and in the workplace are becoming a growing concern in the United States. While it may seem that we hear about another mass shooting weekly, these incidents are relatively rare. Research indicates that the most effective way to reduce targeted violence is by each organization having an internal threat assessment team (TAT). TATs can be a central point within the school or company that can field threats or address concerning behaviors from students or employees, assess the behavior, and monitor the individual to prevent an impending attack. S. Secret Service who utilized threat assessment to protect key figureheads, and today thousands of organizations have their own TAT to help protect their establishments. Riparian offers a number of services to help schools and businesses such as:

• Developing the organization’s first TAT
• Training all members of the team regarding clinical assessment of violence
• Informally auditing an existing team
• Providing refresher training to extant teams
• Acting as an outside mental health consult to your team
• Being a referral source for students or employees who need counseling
• Assisting with community resources available for organization members

I hold a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology, am a licensed clinician in the State of Florida, and have 18 years of experience working with at-risk populations including violent offenders, in locked and outpatient settings, those with substance abuse challenges, convicted adolescent sexual offenders, gang members, and at-risk students at the primary level, the secondary level, and in institutions of higher education. For more information, please go to www.riparianllc.com to see all of the services Riparian has to offer you and your family, and contact us to set up your free consultation. I look forward to helping your and your children.

Feeling stressed? I suggest learning a new skill that occupies your mind. I went old school because who from the 80’s didn’t want to solve the Rubik’s cube😎.

“Amongst all the fear and confusion, there’s this...a different perspective ...

There is so much fear, and perhaps rightfully so, about COVID-19.

And, what if...

If we subscribe to the philosophy that life is always working out for us, that there is an intelligence far greater than humans at work...

That all is interconnected.

What if...
the virus is here to help us?

To reset.
To remember.

What is truly important.
Reconnecting with family and community.
Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break.
Parts of China are seeing blue sky and clouds for the first time in forever with the factories being shut down.
Working from home rather than commuting to work (less pollution, more personal time).
Reconnecting with family as there is more time at home.
An invitation to turn inwards -- a deep meditation -- rather than the usual extroverted going out to self-soothe.
To reconnect with self -- what is really important to me?
A reset economically.
The working poor. The lack of healthcare access for over 30 million in the US. The need for paid sick leave.
How hard does one need to work to be able to live, to have a life outside of work?
And, washing our hands -- how did that become a "new" thing that we needed to remember. But, yes, we did.
The presence of Grace for all.
There is a shift underway in our society -- what if it is one that is favorable for us?
What if this virus is an ally in our evolution?
In our remembrance of what it means to be connected, humane, living a simpler life, to be less impactful/ more kind to our environment.
An offering from my heart this morning. Offered as another perspective. Another way of relating to this virus, this unfolding, this evolution.
It was time for a change, we all knew that.
And, change has arrived.
What if...”
