I’ve been lifting for 25 years…

If you want to feel better in perimenopause, stop chasing hacks.

Here’s the strategy I actually use:

1️⃣ Lift weights 3–4x/week
Muscle protects metabolism, bones, insulin sensitivity, and mood.

2️⃣ Prioritize protein like it’s your job
Blood sugar stability = nervous system stability.

3️⃣ Walk daily
Especially after meals. Boring. Effective.

4️⃣ Protect sleep like it’s part of training
Dark room. Morning light. Consistent wake time.

5️⃣ Track patterns, not panic
Your symptoms make more sense in context.

No detox.
No “meno belly” teas.
No starting over every Monday.

Just boring, repeatable behaviors that compound.

Perimenopause isn’t one chaotic blur…

There are two phases most women move through:

Early Perimenopause
🔘Cycles still mostly regular- but there are usually slight changes
🔘Estrogen fluctuates wildly
🔘Progesterone drops first
🔘Sleep changes
🔘Anxiety creeps in
🔘You feel “off” but labs look normal

Late Perimenopause
🔘Skipped cycles (60+ days)
🔘Hot flashes
🔘Brain fog ramps up
🔘Bleeding becomes unpredictable
🔘Body composition shifts faster

This transition can last years and is different for every woman…

Menopause = 12 months no period.

You’re not dramatic.
You’re not lazy.

The fitness industry loves a clean “after.”

Flat stomach. Better lighting. Tighter jeans.
But that’s not real life.

Real life looks like:
➡️A bad night of sleep
➡️A kid who’s sick
➡️Hormones doing their own thing
➡️Work deadlines
➡️Grief you didn’t schedule

And you still choosing to lift.
To walk.
To eat protein.
To book the doctor’s appointment.
To start again.

That’s health.

Not aesthetic perfection.
Not a 12-week sprint.
But the ability to adapt without abandoning yourself.
