đź’™ **A Farewell & a Welcome at Canyon Family Health** đź’™

Over the coming months, we will be saying a heartfelt goodbye to Andie Gildersleeve, FNP, as she begins a new chapter filled with exciting travel and adventure. While her final day has not yet been set, we want to express our deep gratitude for the compassion and dedication Andie has shown to her patients and our community. She will be truly missed, and we wish her all the best in what lies ahead.

We are also excited to welcome Alli Hamlin, FNP, who will be joining Canyon Family Health on January 6th. Alli is a Simmons University graduate with a background in primary and urgent care and diabetes education. We look forward to introducing her to our patients.

Over the next few months, Andie’s patients will be thoughtfully transitioned to Alli to ensure continuity of care, and we will continue accepting new patients.

Thank you for trusting Canyon Family Health with your care. We are honored to serve this community and look forward to this next season together.

To Our Patients:

As it stands, we currently do not have a contract for 2026 with PacificSource Community Solutions. We are waiting on our IPA and its negotations. In the meantime, referrals that we have been sending for some specialty services and imaging are being declined because PSCS is not providing fair contracts throughout the county.

I don't know how we are going to proceed, I am holding out hope that there will be a fair contract signed in the next 16 days for the whole of the county. But it's also hard to envision this will happen given that an agreement with Salem Clinic and Lane County could not be made.

I am asking you to contact PSCS, Marion County Commissioners, County Representatives, Oregon Health Authority and Governor Kotek to demand they come to the table, provide transparency and accountability and come to a fair arrangement for Marion County.

Thank you so much.
Maria Fife, DNP, FNP-C

A Nuestros Pacientes:

Muchas gracias.
Maria Fife, DNP, FNP-C

We recently became aware of the new Devoted Health Medicare Advantage plan being offered in the region for 2026. We are actively working on applying for in-network status. Thank you!

Good news! SNAP payments are funded as on 11/07/2025 for Oregon.

Good news for our communities! Please check your SNAP card as benefits for November are being released. (We will continue to share and post updates as we get them).

Per Oregon Department of Human Services:

All Oregonians receiving SNAP to get full November benefits today The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) will issue 100% of November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to all eligible Oregonians today, Nov. 7, 2025. This means all people in Oregon who receive SNAP will see their full November benefits loaded to their Oregon EBT cards today, even if they are normally scheduled to receive benefits later in the month, such as on the 8th or 9th of the month.

If people are expecting a SNAP balance and don’t see one, they should call the ONE Customer Service Center at 800-699-9075. Electronic theft of benefits from EBT cards is on the rise nationwide. Take steps to protect your card and benefits.

Measles has been detected in Marion County wastewater!!! It is highly contagious BEFORE symptoms start. The best way to prevent contracting measles is by vaccination.

Complications of measles include pneumonia, ear infections, diarrhea, bronchitis, swelling of the brain and blindness. Measles can also result in death. The measles used to be very deadly before we had a vaccine. The vaccine is very effective for most people but we rely on herd immunity to prevent the spread to those with compromised immune systems.

If you or your child are an established patient, we will be more than happy to provide this vaccine if appropriate. You can also complete the vaccine at most pharmacies.

If you have questions about if you should receive the vaccine, please send us a message through the portal or call the clinic (leave a message if you are directed to voicemail.)

Canyon Family Health

Canyon Family Health is a primary health care clinic here to serve the needs of the Santiam Canyon. Its provider, Maria Fife, has been a board-certified family nurse practitioner since 2014 and is committed to serving her hometown community. Her healthcare interests include wellness and preventive care, chronic disease management and coordination (diabetes, hypertension, mental health), and basic women’s health. She is also buprenorphine waivered to combat the opioid crisis by managing the care of people with substance use disorder.

We hope to open the doors to the clinic July 30th. We are currently working on the credentialing process so we can accept all local insurances. Stay tuned for information about signing up to be a patient. We look forward to helping you meet your health goals!
