Services for 78 year old Eric Heinen of Steele, Missouri will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.

Eric Heinen was born on August 9, 1947 in Oakland, California to Walford Olav Heinen and Joan Hamilton Lyon Heinen Bolin. He passed away on January 8, 2026 in Steele, Missouri at the age of 78.
Eric served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years of employment there.
He was a Vietnam War hero, with a Silver Star Medal for gallantry in combat, and multiple Purple Heart Awards. He will be remembered by his family as the hero that loved them so very much and a man who stood by his convictions.

Home in Steele Mo with visitation starting at 11:00 until the funeral service starts at 1:00 with
Pastor Bro Danny Lacer and Bobby King officiating the service.
Desiree Lynn Welch passed away on January 6th 2026 at the age of 70 years old in Steele Mo.
Desiree was born on March 18 1955 in Blytheville Ar .to Albert and Levada Hall
Desiree Welch was employed at the Garment Factory for many years. She loved to spend time
with her kids,grandkids and family and friends. Playing cards rummy to be exact and yahtzee
with them was all their favorite.Desiree loved to go riding and listening and dancing to music
with her love Jr.
Desiree Welch was PRECEDED in death by:

And the father of her children Jerry Bivins and was also preceded in death by her late husband
Johnny Welch.

Services for 70 year old Desiree Lynn Hall Bivins Welch of Steele, Missouri will be held Monday, January 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Pastor Danny Lacer and Pastor Bobby King officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time.

Desiree Lynn Hall Bivins Welch was born on March 18, 1955 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Albert Hall and Lavada Lee Hall. She passed away on January 6, 2026 in Steele, Missouri at the age of 70.

Desiree was employed at the Garment Factory in Steele for many years. She enjoyed riding around with her windows down and the music on and being with her friends. She also enjoyed being outdoors, bingo, and playing cards, with rummy being her favorite. Most importantly, Desiree loved her kids and grandkids, and she wanted them around her 24/7.

She was united in married to Johnny Welch, who preceded her in death.

Services for 76 year old Stanley Cooper of Osceola, Arkansas, formerly of the Oak Ridge community near Cooter, Missouri will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 12:00 pm Noon at Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Missouri with Pastor Randy Jumper officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until service time. Burial will be in Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter.

Stanley Woodrow Cooper (Lt. Col. USAF, Ret.) was born on October 7, 1949 in Blytheville, Arkansas, a son of Wayne Peery Cooper and Ellen Louise Ausburn Cooper. He passed away on January 3, 2026 at his home in Osceola, Arkansas at the age of 76.
Stanley was raised in the Oak Ridge community of Missouri and the town of Cooter, Missouri. Stanley attended all twelve years at Cooter School and graduated there with the Cooter High School Class of 1967. He then entered Arkansas State University, where he obtained a B.S. Degree in Chemistry in 1971.
He taught high school for several years at Fredricktown, Missouri, and during that time he also obtained an M.S. Degree in Education from Southeast Missouri State. He later served as a high school counselor at Cooter.
Stanley joined the U.S. Air Force to serve his country on May 31, 1979, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel before retiring on July 31, 2001. He served at several Air Force Bases, including Wright-Patterson (Dayton, Ohio), Elmendorf (Anchorage, Alaska), Maxwell-Gunter (Montgomery, Alabama) and Scott (East St. Louis).
After retiring from the Air Force, he helped to organize the Jr. ROTC (A.F.) at Osceola High School in Arkansas. During his tenure at Osceola, his cadets participated in many parades, winning numerous trophies and awards.
During his career, he also obtained an Ed.D Degree from the University of Mississippi.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Osceola. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Lions Club. Stanley was an avid fan of University of Alabama football.
He was united in marriage to Norma Ann Cooper in Osceola, Arkansas in July 2001. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Carol Sue Cooper, and one brother, Gary Wayne Cooper.

One daughter: Erin Marie Cooper of Anderson Island, Washington
One brother: Paul E. Cooper of the Oak Ridge community

Services for 95 year old Margie Lee Flood of Manila, Arkansas, formerly of Steele, Missouri, will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until service time. Margie Flood passed away on December 24, 2025 at Manila Nursing Center in Manila.

Margie Lee Cothern Flood was born on September 1, 1930 in Swifton, Arkansas to Sherman D. Cothern and Inice Frances Bowen Cothern. She passed away on December 24, 2025 in Manila, Arkansas at the age of 95.

She had been employed as a ward clerk and monitor tech for many years at the hospital in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was very active in her church and she enjoyed singing there. Margie loved to go and traveled as much as she could. She also loved her flowers and plants.

On February 1, 1948 in Steele, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Wallace K. "Polkie" Flood. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Cothern, and one brother, Tony Cothern
