In our first 18 days, you made 350 reservations and brought 850 guests into the Cat Lounge. You handed out 700 treats like tiny, bribery-filled love notes. You donated more than $3,000 to Just Tails and you adopted 20 of our feline friends. That’s what this looks like when it works.

Now let’s scale it: 3.2 million cats enter U.S. shelters and rescues each year. 2 million are adopted. The difference? Readiness, space, and timing.

That’s where fostering comes in. It’s how cats become café cats: comfortable, social, and ready to meet their people. More fosters means more café cats. More café cats means more adoptions moving through shelters and rescues. It’s not forever, it’s the bridge. You bring the space & the big loving heart and our partner rescues bring the support. A Frederick County Sheriff’s Office bloodhound on Monday helped deputies find a missing 90-year-old woman with dementia who had wandered off in the Wilde Acres community. Bleu — FCSO’s resident sniffing sleuth — discovered the woman just over an hour after she was reported missing from a home in the 600 block of Raccoon Drive.
