To my clients in Erath County,
As of January 2025 I will no longer be offering massage therapy at the Ori-Gen Chiropractic office. I will still be available to take appointments at my office in Zephyr; I do offer mobile services and can visit on an individual basis with those of you interested in making arrangements. I apologize for the short notice of this announcement…for my clients who have monthly appointments, and for those with outstanding gift certificates to redeem, I will do my best to accommodate your needs. Over the last 18 months I’ve appreciated the opportunity to connect, in a special way, to the wonderful people I massage. Many blessings to you and yours in the coming New Year!

Sometimes clients ask what physical problems I see the most as a massage therapist. My answer is easily "stress". It gnaws at our neck, sinks a vice-grip between our shoulders, inflames our hips, radiates along our spine and the list goes on! For the most part, stress isn't an ambushing enemy; we can usually see it coming... we know the triggers. The thistle I carefully picked from our pasture, in my mind, is a picture of stress. In years of drought, when no other color was to be seen, I was thankful for their thorny crests dotting the field, as if in defiance of the seemingly lifeless landscape about them. They stand tall, giving fair warning of their spikey nature. If approached carefully, their royal beauty can be appreciated. Our stressors are sometimes like that...the things that stress us may be our only source of "color"; source of relationship, source of family, source of income, source of housing situation etc. We can't avoid the spikes of stress altogether, but being thankful for what beauty IS present, can mediate the sting of fear that stress often gives way to. Take a walk this week; find your own analogy of the valuable stressors in your life.
