The New Home Health Acceptance to Services Policy: CMS states a concern related to access to home health services and the quality of the home health service provided to meet patient needs. CMS is trying to address access to care barriers with its admission-to-service policy. Though the demand for care continues to increase, providers have struggled with referral rejection rates over the years due to capacity issues that stem from staffing. This will outline the new acceptance-to-service Condition of Participation, explain how to adapt discharge planning and intake for compliance, define the steps needed to improve timely initiation of care, summarize updates needed to policies and procedures, and Identify staff training needs, continuous review process.

PGBA and Federal Home Health Updates: A discussion of common issues with Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) from the MAC. Recent Home Health & Hospice Coalition Meetings, FAQs, and review/denial trends are addressed. This includes looking at the MAC's responses for keeping claims denied, most relevant clinical content, and areas that agencies may focus on to preempt triggering medical reviews as well as optimize outcomes in case of review.
