Good afternoon folks —

I want to personally invite you and your family to come out and enjoy the Sedgwick County Fair. There’s plenty to see, plenty to do, and we hope to run into you out there. If you see one of us walking around, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello.

I also want to share a service we’ve talked about before — but haven’t made a formal public statement about until now. Starting today, I’m proud to officially introduce a resource available to everyone in Sedgwick County: the Sheriff’s “HomeSafe” initiative.

My staff and I are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to give you a safe ride home — no questions asked. Whether you’re at the fair, at a friend’s house, or leaving a local bar — if you’ve been drinking and you’re unsure about driving, call us.

We’ll come to you, and we’ll get you home free of charge.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a resident, visitor, or just passing through — what matters is your safety and the safety of everyone else on the road.

DUI crashes are deadly, expensive, and heartbreaking. We do not want to respond to another one. And we don’t want to knock on a door and tell a family that their loved one isn’t coming home.

So if you’re ever in doubt, don’t drink and drive, call us for a ride!
