When I sit in stillness and watch the ocean, I think about its depth—how it holds stories older than time, how it moves with both power and grace. The sea teaches patience, unity, and resilience. But then my heart drifts to Gaza, where the tide is not gentle but relentless in its hardship. I ask myself how the same world can hold so much beauty in one place and so much suffering in another. How can half the world drown in need while the other half watches from the shore?
We cannot be content with quiet sympathy. The wisdom of the ocean is not just to reflect—it is to move, to respond, to connect distant shores. Let our hearts be like that tide, reaching out, carrying aid, hope, and humanity to those whose lives have been battered by forces they did not choose. The people of Gaza need more than our thoughts; they need our action. Let’s not be still water when we are called to be waves.
