✨ March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month!

A meaningful time to pause, reflect, and recommit to creating communities where everyone is valued, included, and empowered to thrive. 💙

🧩 Developmental disabilities are more common—and more visible—than many people realize.
Across the U.S., 1 in 6 children has a developmental disability. These include lifelong conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and others that can impact learning, behavior, mobility, or daily living.

Developmental disabilities cross every demographic line and touch every community—reminding us how important awareness, inclusion, and support truly are. 💙

This March, NACCD is proud to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Month with the launch of We’re Here: Then, Now, Always campaign. The national campaign recognizes a simple truth: people with developmental disabilities have always been part of our communities — and always will be.

🧧💥Happy Lunar New Year! 🎉💥

What is Lunar New Year?

Lunar New Year celebrates the start of a new year on the lunar calendar, which follows the moon’s phases rather than the solar cycle. This cherished festival is filled with family reunions, prayers, festive meals, and traditions that invite good fortune.

In 2026, Lunar New Year falls on Tuesday, February 17, marking the Year of the Horse, one of the 12 zodiac animals in the lunar cycle. Each zodiac animal carries its own traits, including the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

The Year of the Horse symbolizes energy, confidence, freedom, and forward movement, making 2026 a year focused on progress, action, and new opportunities.
