Donating blood is even more personal and meaningful for Yolanda L. after her daughter, Savannah, was born at just 23 weeks and 2 days and needed 16 blood transfusions during her 120-day stay in the NICU at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital. 🩸

Because of blood donors, Savannah was given a chance when the odds were stacked against her. Today, she is 8 years old, in third grade and loves dancing and reading. 📚💃

Braylon was just 12 when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Now 14, he continues to face his care journey with incredible resilience. Since his diagnosis, he has received more than a dozen blood and platelet transfusions – each one helping give him the strength, energy and hope to keep fighting. 💙

He continues to receive care and is nearing the end of his treatment, with transfusions playing an important role in his cancer care.
