Pelvic floor dysfunction isn’t just some thing that happens to women after childbirth. Pelvic floor dysfunction in children means that their muscles aren’t relaxing properly to let p**p/p*e out or contracting properly to hold it in!!!

This dysfunction can result in painful voiding, constipation, and leaks of p*e and p**p. Once the muscles are able to coordinate properly, the body can get rid of waste when it needs to.

This education of the pelvic floor muscles can be done with biofeedback, which in the pediatric world we call “butt video games”. Yes, that’s right. Small stickers (electrodes) are placed on the child’s bottom and they use the pelvic floor muscles to control a game on the computer. Kids LOVE this and are able to pick up coordination of their pelvic floor in just a few sessions. One of the games prompts kiddos to “bloom” a rose by relaxing their muscles, and return it to a bud by contracting their muscles!!!

KCG Pediatric PT is dedicated to providing specialized physical therapy treatment for children. We provide advanced treatment for a wide variety of conditions including bowel and bladder incontinence, constipation, delayed walking, torticollis & plagiocephaly, developmental delay, hypotonia, and return to function/sport after surgery & injuries.

Providing clinic-based and home-based services lets us best serve the child and their individual therapy needs. This allows for the child to be most comfortable with the intervention and for promotion of parent/caregiver involvement while integrating change into daily routines and home environment.
