Physical Distancing in social settings is not a sustainable long term solution. But mask/face covering is.... it’s the one solution that will allow us to interact with others while we’re in public, and not able to maintain any form of physical distancing.

I encourage everyone to find a type of mask that’s good for more then 1 time use. I encourage people to get comfortable wearing a mask. It’s going to be a new norm. Get use to it.

Please be responsible during this new era...and be environmentally conscious... especially with any single use items, not just face mask, but gloves, plastic utensils etc.

Announcement

It was not an easy decision, but I have chosen to remain open at this time with limited hours to care for my patients in need.

First and foremost, I do not have a fever, a cough or a sore throat.

Secondly, I will be wearing one of these face covering “devices” while I’m at work and in public. This is my way to reduce the risk of infection. I know a cloth wrap (e.g. Buff) isn’t going to 100% block a pathogen from passing through it, but it does give the pathogen an “extra” barrier to break through. The face mask is reusable with replaceable carbon filters (www.RZmask.com).

I am a solo practitioner with no other employee, practitioner, or assistant in my office. I rarely have more than 3 people in my office space at a single moment.

Along with my face mask, Lysol, hand sanitizers, soap, bleach, gloves and other means of exercising universal precaution, I have reduced, the best of my abilities, the risk of spreading Covid19.

For those of you who I’ve worked with (i.e. patients), if you do not feel comfortable being in public or coming to see me for treatment, I understand.

Feel free to comment below. I know I’m opening myself to criticism, but I am open to a healthy dialogue.

Yours in Health,
Aleck Wong

In light of COVID-19 developments, I will be at my office as usual (at least for now.)

If you show any signs of illness with a fever or have been around someone who has a fever and demonstrated any upper respiratory disease, we ask that you call our office to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Please do not compel to make your appointment because of the late cancelation policy. We will not charge anyone for canceling their appointment when it’s medically necessary.

Please stay safe, take care of yourselves and your family.

I get asked a lot about glute activation exercises. Well, here it is. I came across this last week from Gwen Jorgensen (a professional triathlete/marathoner). I’ve done them consistently and these exercises are aswesome!!

There are 9 exercises total. It shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes.

Major take away:
1. You don’t have to do all of them every time; but you do have to do some of them EVERYDAY. Don’t over exhaust your glute/legs with these exercises. It’s meant to activate and not fatigue.

2. The location of the band... total game changer. Especially for those who wraps the band around the lower leg/ankle.

3. Do these barefoot. Just like she does.

I’ve also created a 30-day challenge chart to help with accountability. If you’d like, I can get you the PDF file. Let me know... I’ll get it to you (somehow... electronically of course.)

1) Forward and backward band walks: 15 feet 2) Banded jumps: 10 forward and 10 backward 3) Forward and backward banded walk with legs out and in at 45 degree...

The road condition is not as bad as Saturday or Sunday. I left the house earlier than usual. It took me a bit longer, but I’m already at the office.

Be cautious when you’re on the road. Drive a little bit slower, brake a bit earlier, and give yourself more space with the car in front of you.

Call my office if you need to reschedule your appointment. 703-723-9355.

Enjoy the pretty white stuff! ☃️ ❄️ ⛄️
