💔
“On what seemed like an ordinary late morning at 11:37 AM, my life took a tragic turn that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. A FedEx delivery truck sped down my street—faster than any vehicle should be going in a residential neighborhood. I was in my house, just a few feet away from my dog setting on the porch about to let our dog Georgia in the house from using the restroom, she had been trained to do so and not run off and never had an issue, she was a loyal companion and part of my family till this day...
At that moment, everything changed. Without warning, the FedEx truck came barreling down the road it was loud from the box truck bouncing down the road at a high rate of speed. In a matter of seconds, the driver struck my dog. She didn’t stop. No horn. No brakes. No pause to acknowledge what had just happened. She just kept going.
I screamed.
As I stepped outside and saw it all and was mortified. There was no time to think—I jumped in my car and chased after the truck. I was running on pure adrenaline, sick to my stomach, tears clouding my eyes knowing what had just happened, I wasn’t going to let her get away with it. I finally caught up with the truck after about a block and a half I managed to catch her at her next stop.
When I got out of my car and confronted her, I was shaking—part from rage, part from heartbreak. I told her, through tears, that she had just hit and killed my dog. I told her I had video and photo proof of the incident, and for her to come look at what she had just done from driving too fast..
And do you know what she did?
She laughed. And denied speeding at all. I reassured her that I had proof and that I would have her job for what she had done. No apology. No remorse. No concern. Just laughter—as if the life she just took, the trauma she caused, meant absolutely nothing.
I stood there, stunned, heartbroken, and enraged. This wasn’t just a package delivery gone wrong. This was negligence. This was cruelty. This was the complete absence of empathy or professionalism from a person representing a major corporation FedEx that claims to care about their customers and communities.
I had to drive back to my house and get my phone before she just drove off so I could take pictures and as I did I caught her laughing yet again and smiled and waved at me as I got the photo evidence of her truck unit number. When I came home before I could do anything with our pet my son came home between classes and saw his pet laying dead in our driveway…
I’ve filed formal complaints. I’ve submitted the photo and video evidence. I contacted fedex to get ran around with little to no response, I’ve documented everything—including the time, location, the 29 seconds it took to deliver a package from my house to a block and a half away and post the shipping pic along with the driver’s identity. And I’m not stopping here. My dog didn’t deserve to die like that. No animal does. And to make matters worse my son came home between classes to see his beloved pet deceased in our driveway, no human being deserves that and nobody deserves to be laughed at while grieving the sudden loss of their pet at the hands of a reckless driver.
This is a call for accountability. Not just for Georgia, but for every family who trusts that the companies delivering to our homes are doing so with care, responsibility, and basic human decency.
